As time accumulates on her already grief stricken mind,
She feels the disappointment clench across her heart.
She feels the surge of pain accompanied by the downpour
of resentment she now feels towards herself.
Another day of longing, desire and unmet needs
followed by distance, rejection and broken promises.
When will it become too much to bear?
When will a heart scorched, bruised and beaten by love
realise it is time to shield itself?
A vulnerable mush of forgiveness broken by need..........
Here I stand with heart in hand every new day;
Open to flames that surround it.
As my tears relieve the smoke of their torturous heat,
I stare at the ashes that remain.
When will I say no more?
